Pennine Richmond - 1964

Frame | 1964 19” ‘Richmond’ road frame; No 64041 with 21” top tube; 16 ¾” chainstays; braze-on cable eyes top tube, pump pegs (19”) down tube and fork lamp boss; Agrati front and rear ends; 6 ½” band on seat tube; 5 ½” band on down tube. The Richmond frame has the more commonly used 72' parallel angles and the Reynolds 531 butted tubing is linked: with elaborately cut Prugnat lugs. Drop-outs and brazed-on fittings are to choice. With Benelux or Agrati plain fork ends the Richmond frame set costs £13 15s., but Campagnolo ends are 15s. extra. |

Extra details | This machine has been built with low gears for use on hilly rides. It was faithfully restored by Chris Marshall who had worked for Pennine in the past. There is a page on Whitaker and Mapplebeck (became Pennine in 50s) under 'Classic Frame Builders'. |
