Posted: Wednesday 19th August 2020
Frame | 1958 Pennine, frame number 3374; Reynolds 531DB tubing, 23" seat tube, 22" top tube, 41" wheelbase; 72º parallel |
Wheels | Milremo Club 27" HP rims on Campag SF hubs with 32/40 Chrome spokes and Michelin tyres. Block: Screw on 14-24 five-speed |
Chainset | TA 170mm cranks with TA Criterium 47/50 chainrings: |
Pedals | Will be Lyotard 460 when I've managed to clean them up with Christophe clips |
Gears | Front Derailleur: Benelux Rod, Rear Derailleur: Benelux Mk 7 5 speed with Benelux lever on Benelux down tube braze-on |
Brakes | Weinmann levers with reasonable condition hoods, Weinmann 730 stirrups |
Stem/Bars | 10cm early Ambrosio with 3T bars (temporary) |
Saddle | Brooks Professional |
Extra details | Pump pegs brazed under top tube. I bought the bike from its original owner who had it 'renovated' in the early 80's and fitted with cheap Japanese components. These have been sold and 'new' ones acquired more in period. It rides well and is surprisingly light considering the wheels etc. |
