Wheels | 27" Conloy Asp HP rims on Airlite Continental large-flange 40/32 hole hubs |
Chainset | Rare Simplex Ekla cranks (very slim) with Chater Lea chainring |
Pedals | Chater Lea with Christophe toeclips and straps |
Gears | Simplex JUY51 4-speed with twin-cable operation. The second cable automatically adjusts the tension on the rollers and is 'spliced' to the main cable |
Brakes | Alp Hi-Life |
Stem/Bars | Fancy lugged steel stem with alloy Concorde bars |
Saddle | Brooks B17 Swallow |
Extra details | The frame was purchased from a friend in Essex. It was damaged with fractured bottom bracket/seat tube joint (not unknown in Galibiers!) and was expertly repaired by Doug Pinkerton. Refinished and restored by myself and built up with appropriate period correct equipment |
