Oscar Egg 'Super Route Special' - 1939

FrameBuilt with Reynolds 531. Extra fine cut-away lugs. Seat tube 21½" centre to top. Top tube 21½" Centre to centre. Nivex rear drop-outs to release the rear wheel without touching the chain. Brazed on fittings for Osgear.

Drive of the Oscar Egg showing Nivex rear end with special wingnut. This allows the rear wheel to be removed with sprockets but leaving chain in situ - especially useful with the Osgear. Rear striker of gear is mounted on braze-on boss. Detensioner wire can be seen going over BB to tensioner arm which is also mounted on braze-on boss which places it lower and further back which increases the efficiency.
