Extra details | Discovered in the garage of the original owner, Dennis Harber from Swindon in exceptional original condition. After Dennis died his son, James passed the bike on. The frame was purchased directly from Holdsworth and many of the components were bought at Kanes Cycle Shop in Fleet Street, Swindon. At the time, Dennis was an apprentice at the Great Western Railway in Swindon and James remembers his dad talk about the huge effort it required to put together a bike of this calibre in post-war Briton. The frames finish is wonderful (Oxford Blue and Chrome) and all the original components are bedded in perfectly. Shown below are a couple of photographs of Dennis with the Holdsworth. In one, he appears to be warming up for a race at an airfield; whilst the other lets us glimpse back for a moment to the pride and pleasure Dennis must have felt to have owned such a beautiful machine. |
