| Frame | 1953 Theo Parsons road/path built with Reynolds 531 double-butted tubes, Reynolds 531 taper-wall fork tubes and stays, and Nervex Professional lugs and fork ends.Seat tube 23½”: The outer surface of the bottom bracket shell is stamped "83" on the bottom, and the left rear fork end is stamped with an inverted "510" on its outward-facing surface, above the axle slot. These are the only markings on the frame. |

I purchased this frame in 2004 from Jeff Robinson, for whom it was built by Theo Parsons. For fifty years Jeff used the frame both for racing, and daily transportation. Theo’s brother Norman was a founding member of the North Cotswold Cycling Club. Norman’s son, Derek Parsons, has created a marvelous web site about the Club: http://www.cotswoldcycling.co.uk. Theo was also a member of the Club, and on the opening page of the web site, a young Theo is shown astride his bicycle, fifth from the right.
