Leader Cycles Leo Star 1959

Owned by: Hugo Vanneck

Leader 1

Frame 1959 Leaders Cycles Leo Star. Reynolds straight gauge 531 with chromed Nervex lugs and fork ends and Nervex bottom bracket. The size is 24 inch.
Wheels 27" HP rims 40/32 DB spokes (both unknown make. I didn't have a  Vernier gauge to measure the spokes but I think they are 15/17 gauge)
Campagnolo Cambio Corso (from what I can tell) hubs
Chainset Stronglight cranks with single TA chainring, Wedgelock bottom bracket
Pedals Lyotard  platform pedals with Brooks toe clips
Gears Campagnolo Gran Sport with Maillard freewheel
Brakes Mafac 'Dural Forge' centre-pull
Stem/Bars GB Maes bars and Ambrosio Champion stem
Saddle Brooks Competition Standard B17 (stamped 59, hence the supposition that the frame is from that year)
Extra details I finally got to Devon a couple of weeks ago and saw the Leader Cycles Leo Star for the first time since I bought it. I cleaned it up and, greased the bearings  and took the photos attached to this message. I only had time to go for a short ride of 15 miles or so but everything worked well. The frame is stiffer than I expected but was very surefooted even on rough
